How Many Days Until Spring??

32 days until Spring official begins.  Are we anxious, eager, excited to see the first signs of Spring?  Yes!  Every morning I am asked the same question, “ Mom, how many more days until Spring?” 
To ward off the winter doldrums and celebrate the coming of Spring we are counting down the number of days until Spring.  Emily helped me cut out two flowers and 32 flower petals (one for each day).  We mounted the flowers on a large piece of poster board and stored the flower petals in a container.

Each morning the kids can pick a flower petal and add it to one of the flowers.
I have written little things on each petal such as:

• Plant some flower seeds
• Plant some lettuce
• Make up a Spring song
• Go for a walk
• Look for signs of Spring
• Make a card for one of our neighbors
• Paint a picture of something that reminds you of Spring
• Blow some bubbles
• Paint a flower pot
• Write a poem about Spring
• Put out nesting materials for the birds and squirrels

I collected any items that we might need (flowerpots, bubbles, etc.) and stored them in a basket, out of reach from curious little hands.
