Weekly Wrap-Up: Birthday Celebrations

I had grand plans for Emily and I this week.  My lists were made and I was ready to go!  Well, we didn’t get 1/4 of what I had planned accomplished.  We spent most of the week celebrating birthday’s and spending time with family and friends.

Monday:  Emily and I finished our math and reading and were getting ready to start on spelling, when my Mom popped in for a visit.  She wanted to take us all out since it was a beautiful day.  If was over 40° (felt like a heat wave).  We headed out and enjoyed a wonderful day, without completing the rest of our lessons.

Tuesday:  We celebrated Dr. Seuss’s birthday.  Emily painted a fish inspired by one of our favorite books, One Fish, Two Fish.  We found the lesson at Deep Space Sparkle.

For dinner we had green eggs and ham.  All I can say is yuck, for some reason green eggs just don’t taste as good.

We snuggled up on the couch and Emily read One Fish, Two Fish to all of us.  It just warms my heart to hear her reading.

Wednesday:  We actually completed all of our workboxes for the day!

Thursday:  I celebrated my birthday, all day long!  We skipped school for the day and headed to a friends house.  I had cake for lunch and dinner.  Ah, what a glorious day!

Friday:  Emily had co-op, while I head to a coffee house, with a friend and fellow blogger.

Not one our most productive school weeks, but mommy feels renewed, after spending time with family and friends.  The school work will be there for us next week!

What a great week! I love the green eggs, we've done that before and yes, the dye changes the flavor. Ew. :) That cake looks delicious!

I wouldn't have expected a change in taste for the eggs. Glad I didn't try it. Had been tempted too. Don't think my pregnant belly would have accepted it. I know that not every week can be productive, been there done that. But we deserve a break now and again, right? Oh, and happy birthday. A happy birthday to you, a happy birthday to you, every day of the year may you feel Jesus near, a happy birthday to you, a happy birthday to you and the best year you've ever had. (We sing this at church)
