This week we have been reading two of my favorite squirrel books, Sara Squirrel and the Lost Acorns and Earl the Squirrel.
Sensory Basket:
I put together an autumn sensory basket and included things from the story Sara Squirrel and the Lost Acorns. Aiden searched for the items as we read the story. You can read more about it here.
Math:
Aiden searched for acorns in our sensory basket and feed them to Sara Squirrel.
Language:
I order something called a Purpllinker from Timberdoodle for Aiden, and the kids have been fighting over this thing! We have been forming letters (and numbers and shapes).
Art:
We used our apple pie play dough and acorns from the yard
to make funny faces.
The days are starting to get a little cooler and we have been enjoying lot of time outside painting (and playing).
Nut Butter:
The kids helped me make nut butter. To make it, throw some almonds (or whatever nuts you have on hand), oil and small amount of honey into a food processor and blend it until smooth.
The finished nut butter ~ yummy!
For lunch we had little squirrel sandwiches, made with our almond butter, apple leaves, cheese acorns, and cherry tomatoes from our garden.
Bible:
This month our character trait is obedience. We have been reading from Leading Little Ones to God and Crossroads of Character.
Playtime:
The kids are still enjoying their little patch of grass. It has brought new life to our farm set.

how fun!!! Looks like fall is officially there. We still have awhile to go here in FL but I need to do some more with it anyway, as fun as it is! ;) Btw, there's a Seeds of Worship song download and cd giveaway ending on my blog in case you or anyone else is interested.
What a great week! I was going to pick those acorn beads up at the dollar tree and then I put them back...it looks like now I have to go get them, I love that activity!!
I love how you do things in such a beautiful and simple way. Not simple as in boring, but simple as in peaceful. It makes me want to come and be a student at your house!
What a great week! Love the nut butter!
I love how you included things from the story in your sensory box! I have been searching for items for upcoming books we are rowing and loved seeing this! Great squirrel and acorn fun! *Ü*
