A Little Patch of Grass

I planted some grass in a large shallow container for kids to use with their plastic animals.  I had no idea how much they would enjoy it!

Farmers

They gathered all of our farm items:  a barn I got from Micheals and painted, a vegetable garden, fencing and farm animals and set up their farm.

Which they played with for a week.  The only reason we took it down was to cut the grass and give it a good watering.

Wild Safari

I received some animals in the mail (I will be reviewing later this month) and the kids immediately set up a wild safari.

Tender Care

What amazes me the most is that they have been taking such great care of their little patch of grass.

Spritzing it with water

and trimming the grass when it starts getting shaggy.

It’s funny how adding a little patch of grass to our play area has sparked their imagination.

Where do you come up with this stuff?
Not only am I making apple play-doh tomorrow, but not I'm gonna be makin' this too!

EXCELLENT idea Cindy! I believe will need to grow our own grass soon...

(And, if I'm a betting woman, I am certain my kiddos will take better care of their "lawn" than my husband and I do of our own yard!)

That is absolutely the cutest idea I've seen in a long time. I think I might need to run to Wal-Mart and get some dirt and grass seed. I have a similar set of animals that need a realistic home.
